PRIVATE CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be at least 17 years old

  • Read, speak, write, and understand English

  • Hold a U.S Student Pilot Certificate
     

ENDORSEMENTS

  • FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(i) training within previous 2 calendar months

  • FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(ii) prepared for practical test, FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(iii) knowledge test deficiencies

  • FAR 61.105 (b) “Received and Logged” or “Home-Study Course” completion document

  • FAR 61.107 (b) “Received and Logged” Ground training

  • Solo and Cross Country Endorsements in the logbook or on the Student Pilot Certificate.

  • FAR 61.87(n) 90 day Solo Endorsement in Logbook (must be current)
     

FLIGHT EXPERIENCE (FAR 61.109)

  • Flight Time (40 Hours)

  • Flight Instruction Received (20 Hours)

  • Solo in airplanes (10 Hours) Cross Country Instruction Received (3 Hours)

  • Cross Country Solo (5 Hours) X-country of 150 NM total, full stop landings @3 points, 1 segment > 50 NM

  • Instrument Instruction Received in an Airplane (3 Hours)

  • Night Instruction Received (3 Hours) including X-country of over 100 NM

  • Night Take-offs & Landings to a full stop (10)

  • Instruction for Practical Exam within preceding 2 calendar months

  • Airport with operating control tower: (3 Take-offs and full-stop landings)
     

MULTIENGINE ADD-ON TO A PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE

ENDORSEMENTS

  • FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(i) training time within previous 2 calendar months

  • FAR 61.39 (a)(6)(ii) prepared for practical test

  • FAR 61.107 (b)(2) ...”person was found competent in the appropriate aeronautical areas
    and proficient in the appropriate areas of operation.

 

FLIGHT EXPERIENCE (14 CFR 61.109 (b))FAR 61.63(c)(3)

A person who applies for an additional class rating on a pilot certificate...“Need not meet the specified training time requirements prescribed by this part that apply to the pilot certificate for the aircraft class rating sought;”

SOLO ENDORSEMENT FOR ADDITIONAL CLASS RATING FAR 61.31(d)(2)

You may fly the aircraft to the exam once you receive a solo endorsement as specified in the above reference.
